A Kenyan court convicted Paul Mackenzie and 28 co-defendants of murdering 191 people, mostly children, in the Shakahola forest starvation cult case.

A Mombasa court on Monday found Paul Mackenzie, leader of the Good News International Church, and 28 others guilty of murdering 190 children and one adult. The deaths stemmed from forced fasting and violence at the cult's Shakahola forest base, where more than 400 bodies have been exhumed since 2023. Sentencing is set for November 6.
