US orders non-emergency government employees and families to leave Saudi Arabia amid escalating Houthi attacks.

The US State Department issued an ordered departure for non-emergency US government employees and their family members in Saudi Arabia, citing increased Houthi hostilities against civilian airports and infrastructure. The order followed deadly Houthi drone and missile strikes on King Fahd International Airport in Dammam and the Shaybah oil field. State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott said the order applied to Saudi Arabia only, denying reports of wider Gulf evacuations.
