Australian police shot and killed a man believed to be Dezi Freeman, 56, during a three-hour standoff at a remote location in Victoria state on Monday. Freeman was wanted for allegedly killing two police officers and seriously wounding a third in August 2023 when they came to serve a warrant at his home. Police had been searching for Freeman for seven months across Victoria's alpine region and had offered a $1 million reward for information.
