DOJ threatens California with legal action over alleged noncitizen voters on mail ballot rolls

The Justice Department sent letters to the Los Angeles County registrar-recorder and California Secretary of State giving them 48 hours to review a password-protected thumb drive containing names of alleged noncitizens who may have received mail ballots. Acting Deputy Attorney General Trent McCotter signed the letters, demanding officials segregate ballots from those whose citizenship cannot be confirmed. The letters, first reported by Reuters, threatened emergency legal action if California did not comply.
