Trump announces Russia-Ukraine energy ceasefire but Russia continues striking Ukrainian energy infrastructure

US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday via Truth Social that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to an immediate 'energy ceasefire,' but neither Moscow nor Kyiv had been consulted in advance. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said he learned of the agreement through the media and reported that Russia continued striking Ukrainian energy facilities, including a power plant in Kharkiv, hours after the announcement. The Kremlin declined to confirm any agreement, with spokesman Dmitry Peskov saying only that 'contacts are ongoing.'
