Kristi Noem's DHS purchased five airplanes from donor's firm at inflated prices during her final hours as secretary.
The New York Times reported that DHS, under Kristi Noem, agreed to buy five airplanes from Daedalus Aviation Corporation at prices significantly above market value during her last morning as secretary. Daedalus chairman William Walters had donated $10,000 to Noem's PAC in 2024. Noem denied the report's characterization and requested a retraction, while her successor Markwayne Mullin allowed the deal to proceed after consulting with White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
