Secretary Rubio ordered Iranian UN delegation to leave New York after negotiations stalled

Secretary of State Marco Rubio ordered Iran's UN General Assembly delegation, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, to leave New York earlier than planned after weekend negotiations made little progress. The Iranian delegation denied being ordered out, saying it departed on its pre-communicated schedule. Two diplomats who remained after the initial order were ultimately removed on October 3, 2026.
