UK ends one-in-one-out migrant returns deal with France
The UK government scrapped the pilot agreement with France that returned some small boat arrivals to France while accepting an equal number of people with legitimate claims. Around 1,500 people were removed to France since the scheme began just over a year ago. The government said lessons learned would be used to accelerate removals of migrants with no right to remain.
