A woman identified as Jane Doe filed a sworn declaration in Manhattan federal court stating that her allegations of rape against Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) were false and that she never met him. Doe had originally sued Carter and Sean "Diddy" Combs in 2024 alleging they drugged and raped her at a 2000 MTV Video Music Awards afterparty when she was 13. She voluntarily dropped the suit in February 2025, and Carter has since dropped her as a defendant in his malicious prosecution lawsuit against her former attorney Tony Buzbee.
