New York comptroller reports Wall Street bonuses reached record $49.2 billion in 2025
New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli announced that Wall Street bonuses hit a record $49.2 billion in 2025, representing a 9% increase from the previous year. The average bonus rose 6% to $246,900, reflecting a more than 30% surge in Wall Street profits to $65.1 billion. DiNapoli estimated the bonuses will generate $199 million more in state income tax revenue and $91 million more for the city compared to the previous year.
