Gallup poll shows 43 percent of Americans view socialism positively
A Gallup survey conducted August 3-24, 2026 found that 43 percent of Americans have a positive view of socialism, the first time the figure exceeded 39 percent since 2010. The same poll found 55 percent view capitalism positively, down from prior years. Democrats' positive view of socialism rose to 65 percent while their view of capitalism dropped to 35 percent in 2026.
