Macron warns of intensifying Russian hybrid attacks and orders infrastructure protection plan

French President Emmanuel Macron stated that Russian hybrid threats against Europe and France have intensified in recent weeks and ordered the government to prepare a plan to protect critical infrastructure and sensitive defense industry sites against drone and cyberattacks. He cited the drone attack on Leipzig airport in Germany and remarks by Polish PM Donald Tusk about planned Russian strikes on NATO's eastern flank. Macron also announced France would call a G7 meeting on energy and discuss strategic reserves with the European Commission.

The split, in one line
Coverage now splits nine ways: geopolitical framers linking drones to Russian hybrid escalation, infrastructure-focused outlets treating incidents as isolated, threat-assessment skeptics questioning imminent danger, definitional analysts examining hybrid war concepts, official-prediction outlets amplifying intelligence forecasts, NATO-alarm amplifiers elevating European leader concerns, institutional-response planners proposing collective EU defense frameworks, preparedness advocates framing threats as sustained campaigns requiring readiness, and regional-security advocates pushing NATO formalization of counter-hybrid strategies.
