Former CIA Director John Brennan subpoenaed in Justice Department grand conspiracy investigation

Former CIA Director John Brennan was subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury in Fort Pierce, Florida, on October 15, 2025, as part of a Justice Department investigation into whether officials conspired to violate President Trump's civil rights. The subpoena was revealed by Brennan's attorney Ken Wainstein in a court filing on September 14, 2025, the same week lead prosecutor Joe diGenova resigned from the investigation. Brennan also remains a target in a separate investigation into whether he made false statements to Congress during 2023 testimony.
