Trump Jr. and his wife confirmed Kremlev's financial involvement, calling it a generous wedding gift from a friend. Rep. Robert Garcia, top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, launched an investigation into the payments. On September 18, President Trump said his son told him he had repaid Kremlev.
