DOJ criminal probe examines Gavin Newsom's privately funded international travel
The U.S. Department of Justice has issued subpoenas seeking six years of records from the California State Protocol Foundation, a nonprofit that has paid for Gov. Gavin Newsom's overseas travel. The subpoenas, issued in early September 2026 by the Eastern District of California, also request communications with Newsom's aides and associates.
