Alexander Csergo, a 58-year-old Sydney businessman, was sentenced to three years and six months in jail for helping Chinese intelligence operatives known as Ken and Evelyn. He prepared fake reports on Australia's defence arrangements, Aukus, and the Quad between May and December 2022, receiving thousands of dollars in cash. He was the first person convicted under Australia's 2018 foreign interference laws.
