Eiffel Tower staff struck after female workers were removed for Hindu delegation visit

On September 5, 2026, around 100 members of the Hindu group BAPS visited the Eiffel Tower. The tower's operating company SETE acknowledged the delegation requested limited interactions with women, and female staff were told to leave their posts. Staff went on strike on September 7, closing the tower for the day, and it reopened September 8. Paris Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire launched an investigation, and BAPS apologized for any inconvenience.
