European fan groups file complaint with European Commission against FIFA over World Cup ticket prices

Football Supporters Europe and Euroconsumers filed a formal complaint with the European Commission against FIFA, alleging the organization abused its monopoly position to impose excessive ticket prices for the 2026 World Cup. The groups claim final tickets now start at $4,185, more than seven times higher than the 2022 World Cup final tickets, despite FIFA's initial projections of much lower average prices.
