Over 150 LAPD officers were deployed to a street takeover meetup in the Harbor Gateway area of south Los Angeles around 2 a.m. on September 6, 2026. The operation, called 'Operation Street Sweeper,' resulted in 69 arrests, 570 citations, and over 200 impounded vehicles. Seven firearms were recovered and LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell warned of continued enforcement.
