A bus carrying 32 passengers veered off a road and plunged into a ravine on Fogo Island, Cabo Verde, killing at least 25 people. Most victims were children and teenagers who were on an annual excursion organized by the bus driver, who was also killed. Emergency personnel worked through the night to rescue victims from the difficult-to-access wreckage.
