US Treasury sanctions Turkish bank Golden Global and two subsidiaries over alleged Iran ties
The US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control placed Golden Global Yatirim Bankasi Anonim Sirketi and two subsidiaries on the Specially Designated Nationals list on Friday, cutting them off from the US financial system. Treasury alleged the bank was established to transfer Iranian oil revenues from China to Turkey and facilitated tens of millions of dollars in transactions for the IRGC-Qods Force. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent indicated weekly sanctions on banks are likely to continue as part of Operation Economic Outcast.
