Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte arrested and posts bail on grave threats charges against President Marcos
A Quezon City Regional Trial Court issued an arrest warrant for Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday over three counts of grave threats stemming from a November 2024 online news conference in which she said she had arranged for a hitman to kill President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., his wife, and then-House Speaker Martin Romualdez if she were killed. Duterte posted 360,000 pesos ($5,740) bail on Saturday and denied the charges. She is already facing an impeachment trial in the Philippine Senate over the same threats plus allegations of financial impropriety.
