Missouri Republican House candidate Thomas Ross charged with conspiring to plant cocaine on primary opponent

Thomas Christopher Ross, 37, a Republican candidate for Missouri House District 161, was charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. Ross allegedly asked his campaign manager to plant cocaine and Adderall in opponent Louise Secker's purse or vehicle. The campaign manager instead contacted police, and Ross won the August 4 primary by approximately 33 votes before the charges were announced.
