Additionally, many feeds (especially Google News-proxied sources like CNN, NYT, WSJ, WaPo) can take 10-20+ hours to index new articles. Vietnam court sentences 11 to death in major drug trafficking case
A court in Ho Chi Minh City sentenced 11 people to death and at least 20 others to life imprisonment in one of Vietnam's largest drug trafficking cases, involving 227 accused people. The case originated in March 2023 when four Vietnam Airlines flight attendants were caught carrying over 10 kg of drugs hidden in toothpaste tubes from Paris. Vietnam's government has proposed abolishing the death penalty for six offenses including drug trafficking, but the changes have not yet taken effect.
