Supreme Court allows Trump's White House ballroom construction to continue in 5-4 ruling

The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 to allow continued construction of Trump's $400 million White House ballroom while litigation proceeds in lower courts. The majority found the National Trust for Historic Preservation likely lacked Article III standing to sue. Chief Justice Roberts joined the three liberal justices in dissent, calling the project "likely unlawful" and saying the decision was "no victory for the separation of powers."
