Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed apologized for comments about a March synagogue attack.

Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed apologized to the Michigan Democratic Jewish Caucus on August 29, 2026, for his March response to a Hezbollah-inspired attack on Temple Israel synagogue in West Bloomfield, Michigan.
