A Piper PA-24 crashed in shallow waters near Seldovia, Alaska, after departing Anchorage, killing the pilot and three passengers. Alaska Department of Public Safety identified the victims as pilot Eric Middlebrook, 68, of Anchorage, and passengers Ronald Schmidt, 65, Lance Schmidt, 20, and Daniel Simons, 82, all from California. The NTSB is investigating the cause of the crash.
