Missouri Deputy Attorney General Shaun Mackelprang, 55, was found alive on August 26, 2026, near Scott Lake in the Wind River Range after going missing during a solo hike starting August 20 from the Green River Lakes Trailhead. He was dehydrated and disoriented when rescued by helicopter at approximately 9:45 a.m. by Sublette County Sheriff's Office and Tip Top Search and Rescue. Mackelprang was attempting to climb Gannett Peak as part of a quest to summit the highest points in all 50 states.
