Federal judge rules Trump administration illegally cut H-2A farmworker wages

California federal judge Kirk E. Sherriff ruled that a Labor Department rule lowering pay rates for H-2A visa farmworkers was arbitrary and capricious. The judge blocked the rule and ordered the administration to develop a new wage methodology. The administration had argued the cuts provided farmers access to cheaper labor.
