Two Frankfurt Airport workers die in airport malaria outbreak

Six employees at Frankfurt Airport contracted malaria tropica believed to have been transmitted by an Anopheles mosquito imported via aircraft from a malaria-endemic region. Two workers died and four others were hospitalized and recovering. Mosquito traps have been installed and captured mosquitoes are being analyzed at the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp.
