Raquel Lee Bolleau filed a civil lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company on Aug. 21 in Los Angeles County Superior Court, alleging that an adult male Disney employee repeatedly sexually assaulted her when she was 14 during production of the 2001 Disney Channel Original Movie "The Poof Point." The suit accuses Disney of negligence, negligent hiring and supervision, and premises liability, and alleges the studio ignored warning signs and retaliated against her career. The lawsuit was filed under a 2023 California amendment that eliminated the statute of limitations for childhood sexual abuse civil claims filed on or after Jan. 1, 2024.
