Jessica Bowie, 35, of Albany, was arrested on August 19, 2026, and charged with attempting to provide material support to ISIS after plotting to bomb the New York State Capitol and kill state lawmakers. Bowie had pledged allegiance to ISIS, conducted surveillance of the Capitol, purchased bomb-making materials at a hardware store with funds provided by FBI informants, and was given an inert explosive device and nonfunctional firearm before her arrest. She faces up to 20 years in prison.
