The Israeli military confirmed it has built more than 23 kilometers of earthen berms inside Gaza, running along the so-called yellow line established under the October 2025 ceasefire deal with Hamas. Satellite imagery provided by Planet Labs PBC to the Associated Press revealed the barrier, which is equivalent to more than half the length of the Gaza Strip. The IDF said the barrier aims to prevent infiltration and protect Israeli troops and communities near Gaza, while neither U.S. Central Command nor the Board of Peace commented on the construction.
