On July 14, 2026, four individuals fled from ICE and Homeland Security Investigations agents at a gas station in St. Augustine, Florida. One of the individuals, a 28-year-old Mexican national, ran across State Road 16 and was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer. This was the third death in approximately one week involving encounters with ICE, following fatal shootings in Houston, Texas, and Biddeford, Maine.
