Senator Ron Wyden filed a complaint alleging HHS Secretary RFK Jr. violated the Hatch Act by urging Libertarian candidates to withdraw from Iowa congressional races.
Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) filed a complaint with the U.S. Office of the Special Counsel requesting an investigation into whether Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. violated the Hatch Act. The complaint centers on June 2026 phone calls Kennedy made to Libertarian candidates Marco Battaglia and Rick Stewart, urging them to drop out of competitive Iowa House races. A recording of one call shows Kennedy offering to be a "liaison with the White House" without making an explicit quid pro quo offer.
