Wildfire burns Fontainebleau forest near Paris during European heatwave

A wildfire broke out on Sunday in the Fontainebleau forest approximately 60km southeast of Paris, burning hundreds of hectares and prompting evacuations, highway closures, and train disruptions. French authorities deployed firefighting aircraft, including Canadair planes scooping water from the River Seine, along with hundreds of ground firefighters. Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said the circumstances appeared suspicious, and at least two people were arrested on suspicion of arson, while the fire occurred during Europe's third heatwave of the summer.
