ABC petitions FCC to affirm The View is exempt from equal time rules.

ABC filed arguments with the FCC urging the commission to reaffirm a 2002 decision classifying "The View" as a bona fide news program exempt from equal time requirements. FCC Chairman Brendan Carr has signaled he may challenge that classification. More than 77,000 public comments were submitted on the issue, with ABC stating a majority support the show.
