Russia launches major missile and drone attack on Kyiv killing dozens.

Russian forces conducted an 11-hour combined drone and missile attack on Kyiv overnight into July 2, 2026, killing at least 30 people and injuring over 90. Russia's Defense Ministry said the strike was retaliation for Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil infrastructure. Ukraine reported intercepting most of the nearly 500 drones and over 70 missiles launched.
