Voice of America journalists file lawsuit against Trump administration alleging censorship and propaganda demands

Four Voice of America journalists filed a lawsuit Monday in U.S. District Court in Washington alleging the Trump administration has turned VOA broadcasts into propaganda while censoring independent news coverage. The lawsuit claims VOA transmissions to Iran, China, North Korea and Kurdish populations now parrot White House talking points and suppress unfavorable news rather than providing objective reporting as required by law. The U.S. Agency for Global Media responded that taxpayer money must support broadcasting that reflects U.S. policy and American interests.
