Rex Heuermann, a 62-year-old Long Island architect, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murders of eight women between 1993 and 2010. The sentencing in a Riverhead, New York courtroom followed emotional victim impact statements from family members and a brief statement from Heuermann accepting responsibility. Heuermann pleaded guilty in April 2026 after being arrested in 2023.
