Jose Medina-Medina charged with murder of Loyola University student Sheridan Gorman in Chicago
Jose Medina-Medina, 25, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder for allegedly shooting 18-year-old Loyola University Chicago student Sheridan Gorman near Lake Michigan early Thursday morning. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that Medina-Medina was in the United States illegally, having entered from Venezuela in 2023. Gorman was killed when a masked gunman approached her group of friends around 1:30 a.m. and opened fire.
