Southern Baptist Convention debates constitutional amendment to ban churches with women pastors for fourth consecutive year.

The Southern Baptist Convention is meeting in Orlando for its annual gathering where representatives will vote on an amendment to exclude churches that affirm women in pastoral roles. The proposed amendment requires a two-thirds supermajority to pass after similar measures fell short in previous years. Over 11,000 church representatives have preregistered for the two-day meeting.
