Previously unreleased photos of Neil Armstrong after the Gemini 8 emergency were donated to the Armstrong Air and Space Museum
Never-before-seen photos taken by Army veteran and photographer Ron McQueeney showing Neil Armstrong and David Scott after their emergency return from the Gemini 8 mission have been donated to the Armstrong Air and Space Museum in Ohio. The photos were taken after the astronauts' unplanned splashdown off Okinawa, Japan in 1966 following a near-fatal spinning emergency in orbit. McQueeney's widow donated the photos, which show the astronauts on a Navy vessel deck and the capsule being transported.
